JP- Progression of Advert

When creating my advert, it developed considerably from my initial concept, which was to have a spotlight from the bottom left corner projecting a shadow of the band name onto the poster. Along with the Album name shown in red to make it stand out to the viewer. However as shown below I found that it was to plain with not enough content in the advert.

In the next draft of my advert I decided to include a picture of the world so to reference the track 'See the World' that we are promoting as well as fitting in with the theme created in our digipak. As well as this I put a teal wash over the image giving it the drained colour look. Although I shortly decided against this advert as I do not believe it look visually good enough to attract consumer interest to the band and album.
For my final advert I decided to have a more 'crisp' finish with sharper and brighter colours that would stand out in a magazine to advertise the band. It links well the to the album and track and creates a reading path for the viewer; the world up the blue ray of light to 'The Kooks' to 'Inside in Inside out' to further information on the bottom right. With the the layout and use of colour i think that it stands out on a page and represent the band well.

  1. This advert design is fantastic - compelling, arresting image. Well done. It is also good to see the progression of the image.
